Under Prof. A. H. Nagi, the Pathology Department progressed in all directions. The department was recognized for F.C.P.S. by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. In addition to F.C.P.S. students, the number of M.Phil  Histopathology and Morbid Anatomy students also increased.

Innovations were also made in the field of diagnostics, the main achievement being the installation of Electron Microscope in the department. At par with the academic and technological advances made in his tenure, Professor A.H Nagi was instrumental in getting the renovation of the existing building of the Department of Pathology. A number of students of Prof. Nagi are now full professors of Pathology in a number of undergraduate medical colleges all over Pakistan.
