Microbiology and Immunology Section
This section of
Pathology receive tests that are advised by different
wards
of Mayo
Hospital and its Allied hospitals (LAH, LWH) as well as from
private and other Govt. Hospitals along with Govt. Organizations
like Pakistan Army, Pakistan Rangers, Wapda , Pakistan Railways
Cairns and Social Security Hospitals.
It also serve as a
consultatory facility for Governmental and non
Governmental
requests in case of epidemics and assessment of sterilization
procedures used in hospitals. Environmental testing of ICU,
various wards and theatres is also done here. Section also helps
in research work requested by various wards of affiliated hospital
as well as from educational institutions like Punjab University,
Govt. College University and other institutions.
This section is
also involved in screening of different wards of this hospital
and its staff
concerning various nosocomical pathogens. Section also caters to
enquiries concerning sensitivity information of various drugs used
in hospitals affiliated with KEMU i.e. MRSA strains etc.
