DR.SAMINA NAEEM
Prof. Samina Naeem was
appointed Head of the Department in April, 2006 upon the
retirement of Prof. I. A. Naveed. She has a continuing
association of over 17 years with this department which she
joined as Assistant Professor of Haematology in 1989 and
continued as Associate Professor of Pathology after her
selection in 2001.
In 2006, she was promoted
as Professor of Pathology which coincided with the up
gradation of KEMC to KEMU. Keeping in view the new status
she designed, formulated and got approved the curriculum of
the Diploma in Clinical Pathology (DCP) under the able
guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mumtaz Hassan and
Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. S. M. Awais, as part of the first
Postgraduate training programs being initiated by KEMU.
Prof. Samina Naeem has a strong association with her
colleagues and staff of the department. Upon appointment of
Prof. Muhammad Munir in September 2006 (being senior to her)
she deemed fit to hand over the chair to him.
Prof. Samina
Naeem is also on the faculty of CPSP and is a supervisor for
FCPS training in Haematology. Her interest throughout has
been in improving the laboratory facilities and upgrading
the teaching and training for undergraduate and postgraduate
students. She has also supervised and facilitated numerous
students in their research assignments. Over the years she
has been constantly discharging her duties with great
diligence, ardent zeal and steadfast determination.
